A captive portal is the page that holds you before you connect. This talk introduces its joyful inversions: PirateBox, LibraryBox, Bibliotecha, and other DIY portals that use the same mechanism not to capture but to share, host, and release. A playful tour through small infrastructures of freedom.
Juan Fortun is a Colombian-Bolivian designer and researcher based in Switzerland, working with digital commoning, critical media theory, and pluriversal design. He develops workshops through DIT/DIWO pedagogies. He holds a PhD from EPFL/HEAD Geneva and co-founded Station of Commons (2020).
