Bachelor of Arts in Product and Industrial Design with Specialisation in Textile Design
Our graduates work in creative departments, design fabrics for fashion houses or work in costume design in theatres and operas. As experts in textile surface design, they bring their knowledge to a wide variety of disciplines and teams. They set up their own label, become self-employed stylists or establish themselves internationally as freelance designers. They advise interior and product designers, write for magazines or develop new materials in research teams.
There they find answers for new forms of work, future mobility, sustainable coexistence or even medical questions – textile know-how has an impact. In addition, the Bachelor of Textile Design qualifies students for the Master of Arts in Design. Thus, textile design offers the perfect mix of craft skills, digital knowledge, sustainability, critical research and creative entrepreneurship.
You can find all the information to the admission requirements on our page Admission Procedure and Admission Requirements.
The entrance examination is comprised of two parts. After registering in time for the deadline, the applicant hands in a portfolio and a work assignment realised on a set theme (which will be communicated by the department in due time). If both the portfolio and the work assignment are assessed positively, the applicant is invited to an interview.
