“Aging Textiles” examines the aesthetic potential of aging processes in textiles. Changes, traces and accidents are not hidden; instead they are made visible and thought through further. The result is an idea collection involving of an animated interplay with external factors. The structures and patterns of aging that are shown are the outcome of experimenting on second-hand materials using various different procedures over a long period. The work encourages the viewers to question their own perspectives, to free themselves from normative value systems and to recognise change as a design potential.
