Where can spatial design take you?

Many Ways to Work with Space

Spatial design touches on numerous areas of our lives—and opens up a correspondingly wide range of career opportunities. Spatial designers work on the design of places, spaces, and experiences, as well as on broader questions regarding our built and natural environments. They combine creative thinking with technical, social, and cultural perspectives, often moving between different disciplines.

A Broad Professional Field

With a bachelor’s degree in Spatial Design, you can work in interior design and architectural firms, in exhibition and scenography design, in design and creative agencies, as well as in cultural and public institutions. Additional fields of activity lie at the intersections of architecture, urban development, digital media, and spatial research.
The creative, technical, and analytical skills you acquire during your studies will enable you to contribute to a variety of professional fields, collaborate with other disciplines, and tackle new challenges.

Develop Your Own Path

Spatial Design offers you the opportunity to develop your own design practice—within existing professional fields or at their intersections. You can work in interdisciplinary teams, initiate your own projects, or establish a freelance practice. What matters most is the ability to independently identify spatial issues, critically examine them, and address them through design.
A subsequent master’s program offers you the opportunity to further deepen your interests and develop additional skills in design, research, or related disciplines.
