Best practice and real world case studies as a matter of course!

The MScRE real estate master's programme is characterised by high practical relevance. As a result, students apply the knowledge they have acquired each semester in an accompanying real world case study: this year, on the basis of a "special property", it is a former furniture factory.

The Master of Science in Real Estate (MScRE) offers an optimal combination of theory and practice to deliver on its high standards. All its lectures, naturally enough, meet this requirement. In addition to the interactive lectures, a case study takes place each semester, in which the knowledge acquired is applied in a structured manner to a real piece of real estate. Addressed and examined in the case study are aspects such as the interaction and possible optimisation potentials in strategic and operational management, in transaction management, in project developments and in the area of investment, to name but four.

Consequently, the tasks can be characterised as demanding: the premises of a former furniture factory are being optimised in the autumn semester – in collaboration with Victoria Liegenschaften, Baar. The task consists of further optimising various building parts of the building (including production, warehouse, office), supplementing an existing tenant mix and, if necessary, promoting new construction projects. All in all, a very varied task: "Real cases studies enable students to apply the knowledge they have acquired in a focused manner and prepare them for subsequent career steps," says Prof Dr Michael Trübestein, who heads the MScRE programme. This finds the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts delivering on its claim of creating superb added value for the students and guaranteeing optimal learning content in the Master of Science in Real Estate.

The internationally recognised Master of Science in Real Estate (MScRE) is the highest degree in the real estate sector and in Switzerland is only offered at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The core areas of study include both scientifically sound teaching content and practical case studies and content. Click here for further information.
