CONTENT
After the introduction by the two main teachers and some individual research, the students can work in groups as they go through the different phases of film production. They receive team feedback and support as well as theoretical and practical inputs specific to their individual work. In these sessions, the guest lectures will hold talks and the students will give group presentations with consolidated feedback on their projects.
OBJECTIVES
The participating students produce a short film in teams on a given theme. There are no limitations in terms of content or form. The students will develop through the hands-on experience of making a short film.
In addition to the important input on the theoretical side, special attention will be given to the expansion of the students’ practical experience in the making of the film.
By the end of the module the students will have practical experience in all the phases of film production (research, treatment/exposé, script/ storyboard, making/production, postproduction and analysis). They will have knowledge of the appropriate terminology as well as basic skills in classic design. Furthermore they will learn to work in a team, work on their spoken and written communication skills, develop their artistic expression and reflect upon it in discussion and share their subject-specific skills into a cross-departmental group. In this way students can deepen the skills they have learnt and, in the ideal situation, expand upon them.
