LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Realization of own photographic projects with artistic, documentary or scientific background. This is achieved through competencies in digital and analog image practice, shooting and lighting techniques, and digital image processing, especially digital workflow and color management.. Acquaintance with contemporary and historical photographical concepts enables students to classify and reflexion their own work and leads to image competence in the context of current image practices.

CONTENT

With a view to our own photographic projects, we will deal with analog and digital photography, shooting and lighting techniques, and digital image processing, especially digital workflow and color management (consistent reproduction of color from shooting to printing). Lectures on art history and media theory complement the practical exercises and provide impulses for the students' own work. The joint image analysis and the confrontation with contemporary and historical photographical concepts enables the classification and reflexion of one's own work and leads to image competence related to the reading of photographies as they are used in our digitalized media world, in art and in science.
