Module Type: M - Elective Module
Module ID / Occasion Number: DK.BA_+FO_3DMOD.25
ECTS: 3

Competence:  Digitality, Material & Practice

Duration/Contact study
1. – 12. September 2025

Lecturer: Fabio Quaggiotto

LEARNING OBJECTIVE

Students will learn to handle professional 3D software.
They will become familiar with important technical terms, appropriate workflows, and modeling methods (Nurbs, Polygon, Volume, and Boole modeling) depending on the source files.

CONTENT

3D modeling is ubiquitous in digital media, and we often encounter this process unconsciously in everyday life. The range of applications is vast: films, games, apps, architecture, jewelry design, medicine, advertising, etc.
The tools for 3D modeling have become more affordable in recent years, but above all more intuitive. However, users still have to make design decisions and work processes themselves.
The module provides an overview of available technologies, tools, and workflows. The knowledge imparted will be tested and implemented by students in practical exercises and further reinforced through their own projects alone or in small groups.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Module in German

GRADING OF ASSESSED ASSIGNMENT(S)

1. Understanding of Model Types
2. Familiarity with Technical Vocabulary
3. Awareness of Various Application Possibilities
