The Textiles specialisation addresses and embraces the design of surfaces, clothing and home textiles, free artistic work, the design of accessories and fashion products, the conception of collections, investigations involving processing techniques and the development of innovative, functional materials such as smart textiles.
In order to expand their individual skills purposefully in the area of textiles and to bring their creative visions to life, the students define their respective focal points in the form of self-initiated projects. They conceive and develop complex topics and turn them into reality using analogue and digital production techniques. Depending on how the individual projects are chosen, graduates position themselves for a career in the textile design industry, in an artistic, commercial or research-driven capacity.
A completed bachelor’s degree in Textiles or Fashion is a prerequisite. The Textiles specialisation is run by Brigitt Egloff and Isabel Rosa Müggler.
