Studying in the shadow of Mount Gütsch: It smells like curry, tacos and bacalhau here
The Master of Arts in Design is located on Baselstrasse 61B. Somewhat secluded from the bustling thoroughfare, the building is hidden by the steep towering rock face of Mount Gütsch. The area around Baselstrasse is a traditional immigrant district. The rent is cheap, which leads people with a wide variety of origins and nationalities to move here. An article in NZZ depicts the atmosphere of our district.
The transfer and specialised modules are taught on the second floor. Six very bright and spacious studios are available to the master’s students on the fourth and fifth floors – interesting views of the city included. The students can use the studios with their access card 24 hours a day seven days a week.
The workshops of the Lucerne School of Art and Design, which are rich in tradition, are situated in three locations: Sentimatt, Baselstrasse 61A and Rössligasse. The workshops are open to all students after participating in an introduction.
