The Major in Image Practices (MIP) teaches artists and art interpreters to see their work as a precise response to prevailing social contexts.
Artists, art interpreters, cultural education, museum educators, curators, art researchers at art schools.
Admission to the master's degree programme requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in an art- or design-related subject. Candidates with equivalent qualifications or employment-related experience may be accepted on the basis of a professional portfolio. MIP candidates without a baccalaureate qualification should seek advice on their admissibility based on the presentation of a professional portfolio.

Candidates are selected on the basis of their application documents and a personal interview with the admissions committee. Candidates apply using the Online Registration Form of the Lucerne School of Art and Design and are required to submit a dossier documenting their artistic qualifications and a covering letter with the concept for the artistic practice during the planned studies. Once the application documents have been examined, suitable candidates are invited to attend an interview.
