Interaction, interplay or contrasting pairs generate tension and fascination.
There are two sides also to textiles. They are mostly defined as the wrong or right, left or right, or beautiful and ugly sides. However, this one-sided approach to textiles is overcome in this collection.
Written postcards were the source of inspiration. A selection was made in light of the amusing, unexpected and thought-provoking messages on them. The postcards’ small format gave way to an extensive pattern repeat on a textile surface. Forging links between images and text is a mainstay of my work.
