Each year, second-year students travel to a city of their choice in Eastern Europe. Before leaving, the students conduct independent research on the respective country, formulate possible topics and establish initial contacts. On site they freely interpret their concepts. Thus, the photographic projects focus on various aspects of the city and the country. With practical photographic and image making methods, the students confront everyday events, sociocultural phenomena, and political and historical issues that they encounter.
So far, projects have been realized in Belgrade, Budapest and Kiev. Over time, these documentation projects create a comprehensive and informative portrait of Eastern European societies.
