The theory modules address practice-relevant theory. They accordingly prompt and sustain discussion and reflection on art, design, film, culture, media, literature and philosophy. They provide space for broad-ranging and critical discussion. The primary focus is the interplay of theory and practice. For art education is always a matter of language. Theory is a tool that can open up dialogue in each “studio community” of lecturers and students, particularly in relation to the projects currently in progress there. How are ideas formulated and negotiated? How best can one communicate them to others? What does language actually mean, in practice?
