Students taking the Bachelor in Fine Arts and Art & Design Education benefit from three generously sized studios flooded with natural light, two seminar rooms, two sound and image editing suites, a workshop, an “open space” all-purpose room, a sound studio, and a communal kitchen – as well as from the entire town of Emmenbrücke.
The studios facilitate experimentation with and the application of a diverse range of formats and spatial concepts and hence are a vital springboard to successful study. The “open space” all-purpose room is where artistic positions can be first trialled and tested then subsequently examined in greater depth. Students have ample opportunities to try out various exhibition formats, types of cooperation, and curatorial duties. A workshop and two sound and image editing suites are available for practical “hands-on” training and production. To reach the studio one passes through Emmenbrücke – but one can occasionally allow one’s attention to drift from everyday concerns to the steel factory or the nearby military airport.
