How to Deal with the Freedom of Independent Study? The studios offer vital working conditions: a lot of light in generously sized, high-ceilinged spaces. But students themselves are personally responsible for organising how to make the most of the time, spaces and opportunities available to them within their respective studio communities.
The workshops, like the modules, are a matter of personal choice: it is up to each student to choose which spaces to use, and for what purpose. The result may well be a nomadic style of work in spaces that are always in flux: the different demands made on a space requires students to recurrently discuss and decide on its (temporary) organisation. Students must define which spaces and resources they need in light of their own current study programme and projects.
Workshops The Art & Design department has at its disposal a diverse, modern infrastructure, including numerous workshops, laboratories and studios. This is where individual art projects and collaborations are devised, developed and examined in depth. The respective workshop directors assure expert guidance and supervision. It is to them that students must turn to acquire and consolidate skills in specific media.
