Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication with a Major in Data Design & Art
Design is one of the biggest and most productive sectors in Switzerland’s creative industries. Demand for experts in data transfer and communication, i.e. specialists who work at the interface of Visual Communications, Animation, and IT, is therefore growing fast.
A Major in Data Design & Art opens the doors to a great variety of professional fields. Depending on their special interests and strengths, graduates may work in the creative industries, in knowledge transfer in research or cultural institutions, in healthcare, in R&D (Research & Development) and “Future Labs”, in NGOs, or in the media and information economy.
Alternatively, graduates may opt to gain further expertise in fields such as design leadership, design methods, digital ideation, design research, and added value through design by studying for a Master Design at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
For details, see Admission Requirements in the section Admission Procedure and Admission Requirements.
The admission procedure is divided into two parts. After registering (before the deadline!), applicants submit their documents, a portfolio and a work assignment realised on a set theme. In the event of a positive decision, they are invited to attend an interview – and additionally, in the case of Illustration Nonfiction, to attend an examination day.
