Campus A growing learning ecosystem

The premises of the Lucerne School of Art & Design source their dynamism from those who work and study there. Appreciative collaboration enriches both the social life as well as the material cycles in the building. We strive for cooperation with considered partners from the (business) environment, internal commitments for the greening of the premises (inside and out), and a responsible working culture. But we are also aware that we can do more. We are working on it.

Use of resources in our workshops

The sustainable use of materials, from paint to metal, plays a central role in our workshops and begins with the introductory courses. The Lucerne School of Art and Design works with OFFCUT Luzern to recycle used and leftover materials.

Diversity Group

The Diversity Group advocates promoting and raising awareness of diversity and gender competence at the school. It is a contact point for gender equality issues, cultural diversity and much more.

Building management

745 Viscosistadt has an ecological footprint. We strive to keep this as small as possible. One way of doing this is through the use of certified ecological cleaning products. The premises are designed around public transport and non-motorised traffic.

Gardening on the premises

Orto is a collaborative project initiated by students. It aims to build relationships between artistic practices, the public realm and local ecologies in order to foster discourse and forge new approaches to the climate crisis. Orto explores the question of survival and belonging through practical, critical, philosophical and poetic forms of expression.

IG Arbeit

IG Arbeit is committed to providing a work environment for all through a variety of reintegration measures. The cafeteria at 745 Viscosistadt and Nylon 7 contribute to reducing food waste through their collaboration with the Schweizer Tafel Foundation. Whenever possible, the ingredients are local and seasonal.
