Foreign students can spend an exchange semester at the Lucerne School of Art and Design. Applicants must be enrolled at one of the School’s partner universities Link zu Partnerhochschulen. If you study at a different university level institution, you may attend an exchange semester as a freemover, outside the Erasmus+ scheme. The duration of the exchange programme is usually one semester.
Application
Partner universities nominate their candidates directly with the Lucerne School of Art and Design's International Office. The applicants will then receive information about the entire application process by email.
As a rule, students and the partner university’s International Office will be notified of the decision within four weeks after the application deadline.
The following documents must be submitted a part of the application:
- CV
- Transcript of Records
- Copy of passport and passport photo
- Draft of learning agreement
- Motivational letter (in German or English)
- Portfolio
Grants
Students wishing to participate in an exchange programme at one of the partner universities may apply for a grant from the Swiss European Mobility Programme (SEMP). The amount granted depends on the duration of the exchange programme.
Freemover
Students from institutions without a bilateral agreement with the Lucerne School of Art and Design may participate in the exchange programme as so-called “freemovers”. However, they are required to cover the study fees for the Lucerne School of Art and Design themselves. Please get in touch with International Office if you wish to apply.
