Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts uses MFA, an authentication procedure that requires two identity proofs (factors) to be provided before access to the requested resource is granted. MFA plays a central role in secure identitiy and access management. Instead of simply requesting a username and password, MFA requires additional proofs of identity, reducing the risk of a successful cyberattack.
Important Note: Please note that different MFA procedures exist at HSLU: onPrem MFA, Azure MFA, and a Guest MFA.
All procedures require separate registration. The following overview shows which MFA procedure must be used for which service.
Further information about the new MFA service can be found on the corresponding SharePoint info page (only in German).
The following applications and services require multi-factor authentication (MFA).
1) MFA for external persons with invitation for cooperation in Microsoft Teams
