Effective research data management (RDM) is essential for good scientific practice. Every research project includes the generation, collection or compilation of data. This data must be handled with care throughout its lifecycle: from collecting the data to its analysis, sharing, archiving, and reuse.
This course explores the practical nuances of research data management, with particular emphasis on the organisation and documentation of research data as well as on the technical aspects of research data management and open research data.
This course is one of two advanced modules on RDM. The other module focuses on qualitative data, thus complementing this course in terms of content. It is possible to attend both advanced modules. While the basic course in the spring semester provides a solid foundation for the advanced courses, completing it is not an admission requirement.
