Business Skills Meetings – Presentations – Negotiations

In international business settings both verbal and non-verbal language need to be considered and honed to their precise purpose.

The do's and don’ts in business contexts differ from country to country. Expectations within different business settings vary. Only culturally adapted, stakeholder-focused communications – in meetings, presentations or negotiations – will win your audience over. Specific needs and expectations have to be identified, discussed, adapted and trained. We are looking forward to helping you develop skills on par with those of your international business partners.

Presentation on ‚Pitching‘: Startup Weekend Event 2014

Startup Weekends are intensive three to four day courses being offered all over Switzerland. They are intended to support potential entrepreneurs in the process of starting up a new business and finding angel investors. ‚Pitching‘ describes the kind of presentation needed to ‚sell‘ the project to an investor. We gave them an input on the dos and don’ts in pitching an idea to an angel investor.

Presentation: Two cases for transformative CLIL (Cercles Conference 2014)

To date little attention appears to have been devoted to transformative CLIL, i.e. adults learning and transforming how they make meaning of the world. Tertiary educators seem content simply to teach how to perform and what pitfalls to avoid in a foreign setting. Our study tries to remedy this neglect of deep learning and intercultural competence with two EFL cases from a Swiss business school.

On Presentations and Negotiations: CAS International Marketing and Communication

Presenting and negotiating in international contexts ask for specific knowledge and skills in both fields. Within two separate course days we provide our students with the basic tools needed to master these especially challenging communicative situations. Structure, strategy,  storytelling, verbal and nonverbal communication, intercultural sensitivity, visualization principles, interests vs. positions, concession making, etc.: All of these and many more are issues which are dealt with during the courses.
