Location
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is spread across six locations in the Lucerne area. The conference will take place on the Horw campus, school of Engineering & Architecture.
Presentations and posters
The two chairmen of the specialist groups, Prof. Marcus Grünewald and Prof. Stephan Scholl, have agreed that the presentations and posters will be held in English to better accommodate non-German-speaking researchers at our institutes.
Registration and submission of contributions:
will be handled as usual via the DECHEMA website. Any inquiries should be directed to Ms. Nina Weingärtner or the two chairmen (as soon as the registration is open, the link will be shared here as well)
Isabel Kottmann and Ludger Fischer will be happy to assist you with any organizational questions regarding the venue.
We hope to welcome you to Lucerne and are already looking forward to a lively professional exchange!
Venue:
(see map on the right)
The room numbers follow the following logic: Room E526 is on floor E, in Building V (5) and room 26 on that floor. Floor D is below floor E.
- The main event is in D415 (Mäder-Hörsaal)
- The posters will be in D218
- Lunch will be in our Mensa (D-level Building V)
- The coffee breaks and Monday evening apéro will be in the foyer of D218
- The elefant bar is a student operated bar and will be open on the evening of Monday 10th for us (and others).
The Horw campus was built over 50 years ago and will be completely renovated and expanded in the coming years. Here you can find information on the project status.
Public Transport:
We recommend coming by train to Switzerland. Public transport is well organized with a 30 min frequency between every city. With early booking (Supersparpreis of Deutsche Bahn) the tickets are affordable.
There are very few parking possibilities in Lucerne and there is not one for free. Should you anyway consider driving by car, the parking lot at Technikumstrasse is the best solution for leaving the car there for the entire time and taking the S-Bahn to commute to Lucerne City and back.
Between Lucerne station and Horw station there is an S-Bahn (S4 or S5) with 15 min frequency, taking a couple of minutes only, leaving Lucerne every hour at :12, :27, :42 and :57. Leaving Horw at :03, :18, :33 and :48
Driving in Switzerland by car requires a toll like in France, Italy and Austria. Switzerland has an annual toll fee of CHF40. This can be paid online.
