iHomeLab Paper wins "Energies 2021 Best Paper Award"

The paper was selected among other papers by a jury of the scientific journal "Energies" and is one of this year's winners. It explores the application of Deep Neural Networks to Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) and demonstrates that this technology can more accurately monitor and analyze household energy consumption.

Er zeigt eindrucksvoll auf, wie autonome Systeme zunehmend komplexere Aufgaben übernehmen können. Anhand von AeroScout Drohnen und dem smart Living Forschungsgebäude iHomeLab wird verdeutlicht, wie digitale Technologien in der Produktentwicklung eine zunehmende Rolle spielen. Denn Digital Development ist der logische nächste Schritt in der Produktentwicklung.

The iHomeLab team is developing and testing solutions for the living and life in old age. For example, a smartphone app that helps people with mild dementia and with orientation problems. The app makes it possible for a relative to intervene supportive.

The iHomeLab team develops systems to reduce energy consumption in buildings. For example, to show the people with a graphical illustration of the energy consumption of an apartment where the energy guzzlers are. Thereby, the power consumption can be reduced.

The iHomeLab team is researching how networked everyday objects improve the quality of life in health, transport, environmental protection and social interaction. Sensor & Health Technologies

The sensor technology team researches photonic, optical and other sensor technologies and combines them with artificial intelligence to create sensor systems for the recognition and measurement of physical, chemical and biomedical features. This technology leads to greater accuracy in object recognition and material detection and allows novel applications in factory automation, personalised health, smart health solutions and digital health.
