The use of electronic sounds in my work and improvisation: In my work, I use electronics, field recordings, and various types of machines and devices. These elements have a significant impact on my artistic direction. They allow me to explore new and unconventional sounds, creating innovative textures and tones. Additionally, they strongly influence my improvisation practices, enabling me to engage with sound in a spontaneous and expressive way. The combination of machines, electronic and improvisation opens up numerous creative possibilities, helping me to craft immersive auditory experiences.
Angélica Castelló (Mexico City, 1972) ist eine mexikanisch-österreichische Komponistin, Blocklötistin und Klangkünstlerin. Ihre Kompositionen, abstrakten Improvisationen, elektroakustischen Arbeiten und Performances sind von einem klanglichen magischen Realismus geprägt - realismo mágico sonoro. «Meine Musik ist abstrakt, aber es sind ganz konkrete Menschen, Geschichten, die mich inspirieren.» Ihr extravaganter Stil ist u.a. auf ihrer solo CD Bestiario (mosz 024) nachhörbar und kommt bei ihren Live-Performances und Klanginstallationen speziell zur Geltung (electroaltar, magnetic islands, catorce reflexiones sobre el fin, etc.). Zahlreiche Kompositionsaufträge, internationale Kooperationen und Festivalbeteiligungen. Castelló studierte Musik in ihrer Geburtsstadt Mexico City, in Montréal, Amsterdam, Wien und Linz und lebt in Wien. Sie ist auch als Kuratorin und Musikpädagogin tätig.
