Learning Objectives
The students deal with principles and strategies in design and art that can be explored in printing, for example the principle of repetition, and learn at least one of the printing techniques offered by the workshops at HSLU D&K. In addition, they acquire whatever competences and skills they need to advance their project. They explore corresponding cultural and subject-specific theoretical backgrounds.
The students expand and intensify their practice in inventive, explorative and iterative processes as well as their ability to bring their work towards a conceptually and creatively coherent result. They enlarge their repertoire of corresponding methods and project competences, and learn to use them accurately - in general and in regard to curating their own work.
The students develop and carry out their self-initiated projects on their own authority and in collaboration with other participants in the module. They continually reflect on their proceedings.
Content
In a first step, the students will engage in experimental and exploratory procedures inherent in printing processes. Alongside practice in the print workshops, short lectures and discussions of the resulting samples will be held. Projects related to the Colabor's Theme of the Year will subsequently be elaborated in exchange with each other. Later, iterative strategies in design as well as artistic concepts that can be adopted from printing (and in principal comparable techniques) will be discussed in practice and theory. During the second CoCreationHub the students' projects will be taken further, hopefully to touch bottom. The last days of the module are reserved for consolidation, presentation and reflection, tackling the product as much as the process, paying attention to the strategies and concepts developed.
