The graphic artist Goele Dewanckel speaks about her artistic strategies where the book takes an important place. For her it's not the individual image that matters but rather the whole of the book. Her drawing and painting work is closely related to her work as a professor in illustration and vice versa.
Goele Dewanckel works in close relation with writers (Claudine Galea, Caroline Lamarche, etc.) on her book projects; she finds inspiration in nature, in her studio, in historical paintings, landscapes, etc. She's teaching illustration at LUCA school of arts in Ghent, Belgium.
