
Integral Intelligent & Efficient Energy Systems
I am pleased about your interest in our activities. The CC IIEE (Center of Competence for Integral, Intelligent and Efficient Energy Systems) has a long tradition. Since the beginning of our activities, the efficient use of energy has always been a basic concern. In search of the "3 liters car", the activities at the CC date from 1990 (Blue-Angel 2.4l/100km). The activities at the CC IIEE originated around 1990 in search of the "3-liter car" (Blue Angel: 2.4l/100km) what startet our almost 20 years of research with energy storage such as batteries and supercapacitors, drives and power electronics. From 2006, our activities were treated in the research unit CC IIEE. Until now, the TOHYCO-rider, a small bus with supercapacitors and contactless fast charging, has been the biggest the biggest project (2004/2006).We work within the Luzern University topics "Intelligent Solutions for the Energy Change" and "Building as a System" with the CC IIEE slogan "Living & Mobility" with our three following strategies and are therefore ready for the new “Energy Strategy 2050” of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy Affairs:

In these areas, employing a committed staff with bachelor's and master's students, for example, with questions of production of spectral and biodynamic light using LEDs including management, with mobile and decentral energy storage systems and their integration into drives for buildings, industry and mobility. This includes the design of electrical motors, as well as the interaction of distributed power supplies in smart grids. The emphasis is always on the synergistic use of various technologies. So we are interested in a universal energy storage SAM (Super Accumulator Module), finding an optimized overall powertrain, or the topic V2G (Vehicle to Grid), that is to say the interaction between the energy storage of electric vehicles with the primary energy supply. Due to our excellent infrastructure, we also offer "fast-prototyping" for unique devices or prototypes.
