The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, School of Social Work is an innovative and practise-based learning centre that also conducts research and offers a broad range of professional services. The School has contributed much to the ongoing professionalisation and advancement of social work and enjoys an excellent reputation among experts and students on account of its state-of-the-art curriculum. With approximately 625 bachelor and master students, the School of Social Work is one of the largest higher education institutions of its kind in German-speaking Switzerland. The School of Social Work boasts a wide range of professional development programmes. In addition, it offers an array of specialised courses and seminars, as well as customized professional development programmes for social service providers, public authorities, and private organisations. Client-oriented services and research projects specifically geared to the needs of practitioners complete the picture. The school publishes articles on theory and practise in a series of its own entitled «interact».
