ILIAS
Some of the modules use information that is posted on Ilias, a platform that can be accessed with passwords that are obtained from the instructors. See: http://elearning.hslu.ch.
Copy machines
Lecturers and students can use the copy machines located at Rössligasse, Sentimatt or Baselstrasse. The media centre of the library at Sentimatt also has a machine for copying books and other bound items. Users can purchase and upload credit to their copy cards at the Rössligasse, Baselstrasse or Sentimatt locations. Overhead transparencies can be obtained at the secretariats.
Mandatory laptop computers
Most disciplines at Lucerne School of Art and Design require students to have their own laptop computer. The school issues recommendations on the models and on the necessary hardware and software (see www.maccenter.net). Students must reckon with a cost of approximately CHF 2,500, depending on the model. Lucerne School of Art and Design distributes software free of charge for the duration of enrolment. Those who are applying for a scholarship can include the letter they received, or one they can obtain from the secretariat, so that the additional cost can be taken into account by the authorities.
Telephone
Students at the Rössligasse building have access to a coin-operated phone; those at Sentimatt may use a phone that accepts a prepaid phone card, postal card or credit card.
